Summary. Concentrations of β-endorphin were quantified in peripheral blood plasma of sheep by a radioimmunoassay that cross-reacted with β-lipotrophin. Plasma concentrations of β-endorphin increased abruptly after physical confinement, bacteraemia, and electroacupuncture treatment for induction of analgesia.
